Cassie Hu, LCSW | She, Her, Hers

About Me

I came to N.Y. to pursue my passion for psychology in my early 20s. After receiving my master's degree from Columbia University, I conducted more than 3500 sessions working in NYC hospitals and community-based clinics as a psychotherapist, which inspired my commitment to empowering adolescents, adults, and families moving towards creating their best lives. Currently, I'm an NYS bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a supervisor. I'm a certified CBT and IPT psychotherapist. I am also an LGBTQ+ affirmative therapist.

As a woman of color and an Asian immigrant living in the U.S., my experience deepens my understanding of personality development, dynamics in relationships, and the interactions between us as individuals and the cultural environments we live in. Besides my extensive clinical work with young individuals (11-35 years old), women, and families, I co-founded MAZE, Inc., a 501c(3) non-profit organization that aims to promote mental health wellbeing among Chinese speaking international students. Too, I have been researching and presenting in academic conferences on topics related to immigrant families and Asian working females, bringing more attention to international students, Asian immigrants, Asian Americans, and women populations.
